Each year the management team at Abergwyngregyn coppice the Alder woodland on a 10 year rotation system. This woodland management technique means that the Alder woodland can continue to thrive in the area. The result of the coppice is a good stock of Alder wood that is used to create charcoal on site. Come and learn how to create charcoal from scratch using the Alder that our volunteers cut down earlier in the year. The process does take time which is why this is a two-day event on the 23/8 and 26/8. You are not required to attend both days but it would be preferable.
