The Plight of the Curlew

Mary Colwell is walking 500 miles for curlews – from the west of Ireland to the east of England. Join us for a talk at Plas Y Brenin to discover more about these beautiful birds and to follow her fascinating journey!

The walk will take 6 weeks and ends on May 29th in Lincolnshire. She set off from Enniskillen on April 21st and is half way through the journey. Curlews are an iconic bird of wetland, moorland and meadow habitats and are unfortunately fast disappearing. The talk will cover her journey so far through Ireland, and why the curlew is in trouble. Find out more about her journey here!

The talk is likely to last around an hour and there’s a restaurant and bar on site for you to enjoy! Donations greatly appreciated and warmly accepted!
