Coed Cae Fali is a Plantation on an Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS). The National Trust have been managing the site for a number of years to return it to a broadleaf (mainly Oak) woodland. Seedlings from the plantation still persist and they selectively remove these species by hand in order to allow the natural regeneration of native broadleaf trees. The plantation species (Western Hemlock and Sitka Spruce) are fast growing and would out-compete the native species if they weren’t removed. Come and give us a hand at this fantastic site.
