Postcode Lottery Trust supports the Snowdonia Society

The Snowdonia Society has been awarded £10,000 by the Postcode Lottery Trust to support our volunteer project: the Snowdonia Ecosystem Project.

These vital funds will allow our volunteers to continue their hard work of clearing invasive species, maintaining some of Snowdonia’s important footpaths, clearing litter and managing important habitats. It will also help us to give something back to our volunteers through our training opportunities. We value the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers, we want to encourage as many people as possible to give something back to Snwodonia.

Sarah McGuiness, a regular volunteer with the Snowdonia Society tells us about her recent experiences of volunteering:

Volunteering has helped me become more confident both in myself and my ability to advance with a conservation based career. I have improved valuable skills such as teamwork and communication. Volunteering not only aids me in achieving my career goals but also provides a wonderful recreational past time. Being able to take part in outdoor activities, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, while giving something back to that environment is an amazing experience.”

A big thank you to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting our work and helping our volunteers to keep Snowdonia special.
