Reduce litter: bring a bag and take it home
Leave no trace: take all rubbish – plastic, toilet paper, fruit peel, cans and wrappers – home with you after your day out. Assume there are no bins in the mountains, because there aren’t. Make life easier for yourself bring a bag and carry it back to your base once you’ve finished. Job done.
Avoid using disposable BBQs and starting fires
From woodlands to mountain summits and sand dunes, Snowdonia is home to unique and beautiful nature. Left uncontrolled, disposable BBQS can quickly spread into destructive wildfires in our most precious habitats, putting people and livestock at risk and putting strain on emergency services. Avoid using disposable BBQs in open countryside and keep campfires to designated spots on campsites. You can find out which campsites allow campfires in the directories above.
Protect wildlife and livestock from harm: always keep your dog on a lead
Max is part of the family, so he’s coming too! With increasing numbers of people and pets visiting Snowdonia during the holidays, it’s vital you keep your dog on a lead while in the great outdoors Remember, you’re sharing the countryside with other people, as well as livestock and wild animals. Max – and everyone else – will thank you for it…
