Last month Burman’s Martial Arts held a fundraising ‘kata’ tournament in Llanberis and raised funds for the Snowdonia Society.
Children and adult members of the club showed off their skills to a host of spectators whose donations will go back into the Snowdonia Society’s work in protecting Snowdonia.
Organiser Karen Durber nominated the Snowdonia Society as the club’s charity of the year in January. She said:
“It made sense to us that the Snowdonia Society should be on the receiving end of our fundraising events for 2018, given that so many of our members and their families love Snowdonia and want to help protect it”.
A total of £95 was raised in just one evening. This will go back into the Society’s practical work with volunteers across the Snowdonia National Park.
A huge thank you goes out to Burman’s Martial Arts for their support, and to the members and spectators who were there on the day.
The Snowdonia Society, established in 1967, is a member-based registered charity working to protect and enhance the beauty and special qualities of Eryri and to promote their enjoyment in the interests of all who live in, work in or visit the area both now and in the future.
