Huge thanks to everyone who made our fifth annual Make a Difference Weekend a success! Partner organisations, sponsors, volunteers and staff all came together to achieve a variety of practical tasks to help look after the beauty, species and habitats of Snowdonia National Park.
• 1 acre of scrub cleared from precious wetland habitat at Cors Bodgynydd with the North Wales Wildlife Trust
• 6 miles of footpath drains cleared and dry stone walls fixed in the mountain environment of Cwm Idwal with the National Trust
• 60m of wood chip path laid (from felled ash on site), 1 acre of Himalayan balsam cleared, and thousands of wildflower seeds sown on the Woodland Trust’s Coed Cadnant site
• 35kg of rubbish, 3 tyres and a traffic cone removed from Llyn Padarn by our canoe litter pick with Snowdonia Watersports
• 24kg litter cleared from National Park hotspots at Llyn y Cwn and on Snowdon’s Watkin path as part of the Caru Eryri partnership scheme
• Over a thousand Himalayan balsam plants pulled from the banks of the river Ogwen with the Snowdonia Society
• Journeys on foot, canoe, e-bike and by electric bus to many of the weekend’s project sites, thanks to Snowdonia Watersports and Partneriaeth Ogwen.
None of this would be possible without your positivity and willingness to help us protect Snowdonia, so a big thank you for all your support!
