Board Recruitment of Trustees Application Information 2023
Welcome
Are you passionate about Snowdonia and its diverse landscapes, rich culture, language and heritage?
Then we would like to you to consider joining us as a trustee and making a difference to our work. We really want to diversify our Board and passion and interest in what we do and our ambitions for the future matter most. So, whatever your background, if you feel you can make a difference restoring nature and addressing climate then becoming a trustee for us could be inspirational for us both.
We are eager that our Board be able to speak on behalf of all, particularly in the Welsh language, younger people and women, where we are currently under represented.
As a charity we have grown in recent years and our conservation team of staff has successfully expanded our volunteering network carrying out practical conservation in nature restoration, path maintenance and enabling more and more people to enjoy the natural beauty we know and love more responsibly. We also engage with the public and local communities, fundraise and work with partners to enhance our impact. Our influential voice contributes to government plans that can result in important changes that affect us all through new legislation. Our recent interventions have been in sustainable transport and tourism, the Agriculture Bill, and sustainable farming.
We are currently developing our future strategy. We want to be clearer about the special outcomes that will benefit future generations wishing to care for and enjoy wilder and more nature rich landscapes. Equally we need to continue to secure funding through grants, donations and legacies to remain financially viable.
If you think you can help us make a difference this could be an interesting and challenging role which enables you to draw on your own knowledge and skills. We welcome those early in their careers who want this kind of experience.
Being a trustee does take time and dedication along with enthusiasm, ideas and an ability to listen to and challenge others. If you are interested, please look at the Information for Prospective Trustees, attached, which also tells you how to apply.
