After graduating from Bangor University Julian worked in the Forestry Commission in Scotland before switching to a career as a town planner in local government and then the Civil Service.
He has explored the Snowdonia National Park on holiday every year since childhood but is a relatively new member of the Society, joining after moving to Deganwy with his wife Kay in 2017.
Still a chartered planner, he wants to use his experience to try to ensure that future development in the National Park avoids harm and wherever possible makes a positive contribution to conserving the area’s special qualities.
The Snowdonia Society, established in 1967, is a member-based registered charity working to protect and enhance the beauty and special qualities of Eryri and to promote their enjoyment in the interests of all who live in, work in or visit the area both now and in the future.
